Atlético Tucuman vs Platense Live Stream & Tips – Hosts to Claim Home Spoils

Written by on May 28, 2024

Atlético Tucuman vs Platense Predictions

This is a tough match to predict, but I’ll make a low-stakes punt on Atlético Tucuman claiming another home win on Tuesday.

I’m putting my money on the hosts to claim all three points at the Estadio Monumental Presidente José Fierro.

  • Atlético Tucuman won 3 of their last 4 home matches
  • Atlético Tucuman won 3 of their last 4 home matches against Platense
  • Platense lost 5 of their last 9 away matches

Head to Head

Atlético Tucuman and Platense will meet for the eighth time on Tuesday. Atlético Tucuman hold a narrow H2H advantage, scoring three wins to Platense’s two.

The points were shared in their most recent encounter in February, while Tucuman edged to a 2-1 victory in their last encounter in San Miguel de Tucumán.

Atlético Tucuman Form

Atlético Tucuman suffered their first home defeat in five matches after Carlos Colazo’s stoppage-time goal secured a 2-1 win for Gimnasia La Plata on Thursday.

Facundo Sava’s side scored three successive victories at the Estadio Monumental Presidente José Fierro, including a fine 1-0 win against Boca, before last week’s home reversal.

El Decano have a solid home record over the past 12 months. Sava’s men are unbeaten in 17 of their last 20 matches in San Miguel de Tucumán.

Atlético Tucuman Team News

Atlético boss Sava could make one or two alterations to his XI after last week’s home reversal against Gimnasia. Tomás Castro Ponce is set to drop out after he was withdrawn at the interval on Thursday.

Injured trio Gianluca Ferrari, Néstor Breitenbruch and Lucas Ambrogio are again expected to miss out.

Platense Form

Platense arrive in San Miguel de Tucumán, having failed to score in their first two LPA fixtures of the 2nd phase. After a 2-0 defeat at Newell’s Old Boys a fortnight ago, Martín Palermo’s side were then held to a goalless draw against Independiente last time out.

The Calamar are winless in five of their last seven LPA matches, while they have lost five of their last nine away fixtures since December.

Palermo’s men finished ninth in Group 2 of the LPA 1st phase, and now sit 25th in the 28-team division.

Platense Squad & Team News

Head coach Palermo reported no further injury issues after last weekend’s stalemate against Independiente.

Carlos Villalba and Gonzalo Valdivia are likely to miss out, while Raúl Lozano and Ciro Rius remain long-term absentees.
