Concrete possibility for Arsenal transfer target to move to the Premier League

Written by on May 27, 2024

Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the future of rumoured Arsenal and Aston Villa target Ferdi Kadioglu in today’s edition of his exclusive Daily Briefing column for CaughtOffside.

Kadioglu has attracted plenty of speculation recently and Romano has acknowledged links with the likes of Arsenal and Villa, adding that a move to the Premier League looks like a concrete possibility for the Turkey international.

Arsenal could do with a new signing at left-back after Oleksandr Zinchenko lost his place in Mikel Arteta’s side in the second half of the season just gone, with Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu filling in in that position despite naturally being more comfortable at centre-back and right-back, respectively.

Kadioglu looks like a decent option after impressing at Fenerbahce, but it seems fans might have to be patient on this one before anything more concrete happens with any specific club, according to Romano.

Kadioglu transfer: What next for Arsenal and Villa target?

“Kadioglu is always been linked with several clubs – there have been stories about Aston Villa as well as Arsenal – but there is no news yet,” Romano said.

“A move to the Premier League is concrete possibility, but for now we have to wait a bit longer and see which club will really go for it.”

Villa could surely be a tempting destination for Kadioglu now after their impressive rise under Unai Emery which has seen them qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal would perhaps offer a more realistic shot at winning major trophies, but Kadioglu might also be unsure about his playing time at the Emirates Stadium due to the possible competition for places if Zinchenko’s form improves and he wins his place back, or if Kiwior and Tomiyasu show enough on that side of the defence to keep on playing there regularly.
